“Evan loved life and used his talents to entertain and bring joy to others,” they shared.
“He made us proud every day, whether it was making friends laugh with jokes and magic tricks, playing cricket, or performing on stage.”
The family also called for a reduction in the speed limit on the road where Evan was struck, emphasizing the need for increased safety outside schools.
“The current 40mph limit must be lowered to prevent tragedies like this from happening again,” they urged.
School Community United in Grief
Evan’s passing has deeply impacted Kings School, where he was remembered as a bright and joyful student.
George Hartley, the school’s Head Teacher, expressed the profound loss felt by the entire school community.
“Evan will forever be remembered as a fun-loving classmate with an intellectual curiosity beyond his years.
This devastating loss has shaken us to our core, but we are drawing strength from the countless tributes being paid to him,” Hartley said.
Emily Sherriff, Evan’s Head of Year, echoed similar sentiments.
“Evan arrived at Kings in September with a smile that could light up the room.
His kindness and enthusiasm were unmatched, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched,” she added.
A Call for Change
In the wake of this tragedy, Evan’s family and supporters are advocating for safer roads around schools.
