Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt is not going to Egyptian giants Zamalek after all. The South African previously reported the likelihood of the deal happening last week.
As we suspected last week, the four-time DStv Premiership champion seemed to possibly be on his way to Zamalek after the Egyptian Premier League club parted ways with Patrice Carteron.
The news was soon followed by an exciting update. Hunt was seen preparing to leave Mzansi for a mysterious destination. With his incredible success in the local game and world-class analysis on SuperSport TV for AFCON 2021, it was easy to suspect he was headed to Zamalek.
ZAMALEK NAME NEW COACH
As it turns out, the Egyptian club has not gone with the former Amakhosi coach. Zamalek have instead appointed former Benfica and FC Porto boss Jesualdo Ferreira.
Ferreira returns to the club for a second spell since he won the Egyptian Cup in 2015.
