Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has highlighted a series of long-range military operations carried out by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, saying the strikes are aimed at weakening Russia’s ability to continue its war effort and reducing the resources available to support military operations.
According to Zelenskyy, the latest attacks targeted a range of military and industrial sites inside Russia, reflecting Ukraine’s continued focus on striking facilities linked to drone operations, military aviation, and energy production.
Drone Infrastructure Targeted in Multiple Regions
The Ukrainian leader said overnight operations focused on facilities in Russia’s Oryol and Rostov regions that were allegedly being used for the storage, preparation, and launch of attack drones.
Ukraine has increasingly sought to disrupt Russian drone capabilities as both sides continue to rely heavily on unmanned systems in the conflict. Officials in Kyiv argue that targeting such infrastructure is necessary to reduce the frequency and intensity of attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian communities.
Military Airfield and Black Sea Facilities Hit
Zelenskyy also reported strikes against a military airfield located in Yeysk, as well as operations conducted in the Black Sea area.
While specific details regarding the extent of the damage were not provided, Ukrainian officials have repeatedly stated that military airfields and related facilities remain key targets because of their role in supporting Russian combat operations and aerial attacks.
Oil Refinery Among Strategic Targets
In addition to military infrastructure, Ukraine said it struck an oil refinery in Russia’s Leningrad region. Zelenskyy described the facility as an important source of revenue that contributes significantly to Russia’s wartime budget.
Energy facilities have increasingly become part of Ukraine’s long-range targeting strategy, with Kyiv arguing that reducing revenue streams tied to Russia’s military campaign can limit Moscow’s ability to sustain prolonged combat operations.
Additional Operations Confirmed Across Russia
The Ukrainian president said successful long-range operations were also confirmed during the week against facilities located in Bashkortostan and the Arkhangelsk region.
These operations, he said, demonstrate Ukraine’s growing ability to reach targets far from the front lines and to strike locations considered important to Russia’s military and industrial infrastructure.
Call for Stronger International Sanctions
Alongside military operations, Zelenskyy renewed calls for Ukraine’s international partners to increase sanctions pressure on Russia. He argued that military strikes should be complemented by economic measures aimed at restricting the resources and technologies available to Moscow.
According to Zelenskyy, many of the weapons systems used by Russia rely on large quantities of foreign-made components, chemicals, and industrial equipment. He said Ukraine continues to share information with partner countries regarding alleged sanctions-evasion networks and methods used to obtain restricted materials.
Kyiv Seeks to Increase Pressure on Moscow
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine’s objective is to ensure that Russia increasingly feels the consequences of the conflict within its own territory. He argued that sustained military pressure, combined with tighter sanctions enforcement, can weaken Russia’s capacity to support operations against Ukraine.
The remarks come as both sides continue to engage in long-range strikes, with Ukraine seeking to expand pressure on Russian military and economic infrastructure while urging allies to intensify efforts to limit Moscow’s access to critical resources and technologies.
