The outlook includes a mix of sunny intervals, rainy spells, gusty winds, and overcast periods, with temperatures remaining around the average mark. Saturday is likely to be particularly rainy, but conditions should improve slightly on Sunday and Monday.
Unfortunately, individuals hoping to indulge in sunbathing during their staycations over the extended weekend will be disappointed, as temperatures are expected to peak around 20°C to 21°C. Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Steven Keates mentioned that while showers will persist throughout the weekend, there will be breaks in the cloud cover, especially on Sunday in the southern regions where it might feel relatively pleasant. Southeastern areas might experience fewer showers and more bright or sunny spells on Saturday and Sunday, although temperatures will likely stay close to the seasonal norm. Conversely, northern and western areas should anticipate more frequent showers, some of which might be intense and could extend to central parts of England and Wales.
Monday, a Bank Holiday in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, could see a band of showery rain clearing from the east early in the day, followed by sunny intervals and scattered showers for most regions. Unfortunately, there are no indications of significant heat in the immediate forecast period. To add to the disappointment, the Met Office predicts that unsettled conditions with showers and longer periods of rain are likely to persist into the following week. The current forecast calls for heavy showers tonight and tomorrow. Saturday is expected to bring a mixture of sunshine and showers, with the possibility of thundery outbursts. Sunday and Monday offer a slightly improved outlook, featuring a bright start for most areas, although some cloudiness is expected in the northwest on Sunday. Monday should see several sunny spells, with occasional clouds and the chance of light showers or drizzle.
