Israel Adesanya, the current UFC middleweight champion, recently shared his favorite Nigerian meal in an interview.
According to Adesanya, his top pick is the popular Nigerian dish called ‘suya,’ which consists of skewered goat or cow meat.
During his appearance on the Flagrant Podcast, Adesanya was asked about feelings of jealousy as a Nigerian in light of Ghana’s recent progress.
In response, he expressed his belief that Nigerian jollof rice surpasses any other variety.
As for suya, Adesanya specifically mentioned his preference for goat meat suya, which he considers the best food in the world.
He also mentioned enjoying suya during his time in America.
It is worth noting that Adesanya has been vocal about his desire for an increase in his $50,000 performance bonus from the UFC.
Throughout his career, Adesanya has received eight $50,000 checks in 15 fights, making him a frequent recipient of the UFC performance bonus.
The UFC typically awards multiple bonuses per event, including “Knockout of the Night,” “Fight of the Night,” and a $50,000 incentive for each fighter.
