Flights at President Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach, Florida, were temporarily affected on Sunday after authorities began investigating a suspicious phone call.

Airport officials announced the investigation at approximately 1.23pm, confirming that law enforcement had taken precautionary measures while the incident was being examined.

In a statement published on X, officials said the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) had slowed traffic entering the terminal.

“The nature of the phone call remains unclear, and authorities have not disclosed further details about the incident.

Travellers Warned of Possible Delays

Airport officials cautioned passengers that delays could occur while the investigation continued.

They also urged members of the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

“If you see something, say something,” officials wrote, thanking travellers for their patience and cooperation during the precautionary measures.

The announcement did not specify the contents of the phone call or whether it involved a direct threat to the airport.

Terminal Roadways Reopen as Operations Return to Normal

The airport issued a further update at approximately 2.30pm, confirming that the roadways leading to the terminal had reopened.

Officials also announced that airport operations had returned to normal following the temporary disruption.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the airport said in its update.

The reopening followed the earlier decision to slow traffic entering the terminal while law enforcement investigated the reported phone call.

Incident Occurred Hours Before Trump’s Scheduled Departure

The security scare occurred just hours before President Trump was expected to depart from the airport.

Airport law enforcement told the Daily Mail that they could not provide further details about the incident but confirmed that authorities were investigating an occurrence in the airport area.

Officials have not publicly clarified the nature of the suspicious phone call or disclosed additional information about the investigation.

The airport’s announcement confirmed that the immediate disruption had ended, with terminal roadways reopened and operations restored to normal.
