Renowned Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has declared that she will persist in contesting elections until she emerges victorious.
Having previously served as the deputy governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress in Rivers State during the 2023 elections, Tonto acknowledged the complexities of politics and admitted that her chances of governing the oil-rich state in the future were both promising and uncertain due to the murky nature of the political arena.

During an interview at the GOTNI national leadership conference in Abuja, themed ‘Leadership for sustainability,’ Tonto Dikeh highlighted the lessons she learned from her electoral experience, emphasizing the importance of resilience and never giving up.
She acknowledged that people may assume she will fade away after four years, but she boldly asserted her intention to return to the political scene repeatedly, undeterred by skeptics.
She recognized the harsh reality that politics is not often conducted in a fair and unbiased manner, citing the example of Nyesom Wike’s candidate, whose victory was not achieved through a free and fair process.
Embracing a Lion’s Heart and Making an Impact
Undeterred by the challenges inherent in politics, Tonto Dikeh remains undaunted, stating her determination to persistently pursue her goals.
She asserted her intention to claim her share, whether in her personal life or in politics, comparing the pursuit of power to having a lion’s heart and being willing to take the lion’s share.
