This week marks the beginning of the 2024 Olympics, and the buzz is palpable.
With the opening ceremony kicking off on Friday, athletes from around the globe are gearing up for the competition in Paris.
As always, the anticipation for the Games is high, and Team GB is no exception. According to predictions from Gracenote, the team is expected to secure 63 medals.
Among those carrying Britain’s hopes are stars like Adam Peaty, Keely Hodgkinson, Zharnel Hughes, and Josh Kerr. These athletes will be supported not just by their coaches and support staff, but also by their partners.
Adam Peaty, one of Team GB’s leading medal contenders, is aiming for his third consecutive Olympic gold. Accompanying him is Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Despite growing up in the spotlight, Holly has made a name for herself as a model and influencer with over 300,000 Instagram followers.
She’s also been open about her struggles with depression and her journey towards sobriety through her podcast, “21 & Over.”
Peaty and Ramsay went public with their relationship in June 2023, after Holly’s sister Tilly introduced them through her stint on *Strictly Come Dancing*.
Max Whitlock, a decorated gymnast, will also have a strong supporter in his wife, Leah Hickton. The pair, who met at their local gymnastics club as children, have been inseparable ever since.
They got engaged in 2016 and welcomed their daughter Willow in February 2019. Whitlock’s proposal was a surprise, and he admitted it was more nerve-wracking than competing in the Olympics.
Together, they founded the Max Whitlock Gymnastics Club in 2018 to nurture the sport locally.
Zharnel Hughes, known for being Britain’s fastest sprinter in the 100m and 200m, has been in a relationship with Shenel Francis since 2018.
Shenel, a dental hygienist with her own candle brand, Esnek.co, has been a steady presence in Hughes’ life.
Their relationship remained private until 2022, and Hughes has often credited Shenel with helping him stay grounded and focused on his training.
Gary Beadle – Charley Hull’s New Flame
Charley Hull, a golf prodigy who turned professional at 16, is another key figure in Team GB’s medal hopes.
She has reportedly been dating former *Geordie Shore* star Gary Beadle since her previous marriage ended in 2021.
Beadle, who is known for his own love of golf, has been supportive of Hull’s career, though they haven’t been seen together publicly.
Fans are eager to see if Beadle will be in Paris cheering on Hull.
Josh Kerr, who clinched bronze in Tokyo and became the world champion in the 1500m last year, is engaged to Larimar Rodriguez.
The couple met in 2017 while both were track and field athletes at the University of New Mexico.
Rodriguez, now a resident doctor at the University of Miami, has been a significant source of support for Kerr, who has credited her with helping him stay focused and motivated.
Andrew Pozzi – Katarina Johnson-Thompson’s Partner
Katarina Johnson-Thompson, the heptathlete who’s yet to secure Olympic gold, will have the support of her partner, Andrew Pozzi.
Although Pozzi won’t be competing in Paris himself, having finished seventh in Tokyo, he has been a supportive figure throughout Johnson-Thompson’s career.
Their long-distance relationship has been challenging, but they’ve managed to stay close through shared competitions and visits.
Clare Fleetwood – Tommy Fleetwood’s Pillar
Tommy Fleetwood, who is set to compete in golf at the Olympics, will be supported by his wife, Clare Fleetwood.
The couple met in 2015 when Clare, a sports agent, tried to recruit Tommy.
They fell in love and married in the Bahamas in 2017. Clare, who is 22 years older than Tommy, also has two sons from a previous relationship.
Despite occasional comments about their age difference, the couple has found a perfect balance between their personal and professional lives.
Emily Large – Matt Richards’ Fiancée
Finally, swimmers Matt Richards and Emily Large have both made waves in the swimming world.
Richards won gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay in Tokyo and was awarded an MBE in 2022.
Although Large didn’t make it to the Olympics this year, she will still have plenty to celebrate as she and Richards are planning their wedding for August 22, just after the Games.
Their wedding will be attended by fellow swimmers and Team GB athletes, making it a memorable summer for both.
