Steve Komphela: ‘I don’t only respect Kaizer Chiefs…”

Kaizer Chiefs has been the subject of many embarrassments but still enjoys so much true respect from many stakeholders in the game.

Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Steve Komphela is the newest professional to bow his head for Amakhosi and Kaizer Motaung.

Following last Sunday’s guard of honour from Amakhosi to congratulate Sundowns on the championship, coach Komphela admitted on Twitter that it all felt awkward.

A reply from one of his followers soon asked the Kokstad-born coach if he recalls the classy send-off he was once given by Kaizer Motaung.

Komphela simply responded to pour his heart out to the Kaizer Chiefs and the man known as ‘Chincha Guluva.’

“I don’t only respect Kaizer Chiefs, the Chairman, nor do I love his ways, I absolutely admire and adore his visionary leadership,” Komphela said.

“I will never forget the exit interview as well. He deserves every ounce of respect,” he concluded.
