Jannie du Plessis has officially been appointed as the head coach at Monument High School in Johannesburg.
Known for his impressive career with the Springboks, he’s now passing on his wealth of experience to a new generation of players.
The announcement was made via Rugby365, confirming his new leadership role at the prestigious school, renowned for its rugby excellence.
A Storied Rugby Career
Before stepping into coaching, du Plessis was already a household name in South African rugby.
He earned 70 test caps for the Springboks, including a memorable debut in 2007 against Australia, where he played alongside his brother, Bismarck.
His standout career highlights include being part of the team that clinched the 2007 Rugby World Cup title and his key role in the victorious 2009 British & Irish Lions series.
Beyond his international success, du Plessis also played for several notable clubs, including the Cheetahs, Sharks, and Montpellier in France, before returning to South Africa to play for the Lions.
He retired from professional rugby in 2022, marking the end of a distinguished playing career.
