A small plane crashed off a runway and slammed into trees in New Hampshire on Tuesday morning, leaving at least one person injured.
The incident occurred at around 10:15 a.m. at Hampton Airfield’s Reddington Landing, sending emergency crews rushing to the scene.
Pilot Found Walking After the Crash
Initial reports indicated that the pilot was seen walking around after the crash, which seemed like a positive sign despite the severity of the incident.
While the cause of the crash is still unclear, early images of the site showed heavy snowfall, which may have contributed to the accident.
Authorities have confirmed that the pilot was the only person on board the aircraft.
A String of Recent Aviation Accidents
This crash comes amid a troubling series of aviation accidents across the United States in recent weeks.
Thirteen days ago, one of the most devastating air disasters in recent memory occurred when an American Airlines passenger jet collided with a military helicopter over Reagan National Airport.
A few days later, a small air ambulance in Pennsylvania tragically crash-landed, killing six people on board and a seventh person on the ground.
Additionally, last week, a small jet went missing in Alaska, resulting in the deaths of all 10 people aboard.
And just a day before this crash, a private jet owned by Motley Crue’s Vince Neil went down in Scottsdale, Arizona, after its landing gear failed, leaving one person dead and three others injured.
Pilot Evaluated and Not Seriously Injured
Despite the worrying series of events, officials confirmed that the pilot involved in Tuesday’s crash in New Hampshire was evaluated on the scene and, fortunately, was not seriously injured.
New Hampshire State Police provided an update via Facebook, noting that the pilot was the only occupant of the plane and that the FAA had been notified of the crash.
