Sharjah Ruler issues Emiri Decree on establishment of AENS

SHARJAH, 3rd March, 2022 – H.

Dr.

Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued an Emiri Decree No.

(8) of 2022, on the establishment of the Academy of Ecology and Natural Sciences (AENS).

As per the articled of the Emiri Decree, the Academy shall be a non-profit scientific entity that is financially and administratively independent, and enjoys legal personality and full capacity to carry out the legal actions necessary to achieve its goals and exercise its competencies, and shall be owned by the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The Emiri Decree stipulated that the main headquarters of the Academy will be in Al Dhaid, and it may establish branches and offices for it inside and outside the country.

The Academy includes Desert Sciences Institute, Agriculture Institute, Zoology Institute, and Veterinary Institute.

This Decree shall be effective from the date of its issuance, and concerned authorities shall implement it, each within its competences, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
