Salihu Tanko Yakasai Reacts to Withdrawal of Maryam ‘Shetty’ Shettima’s Ministerial Nomination

The former governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Kano State, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, has expressed his thoughts on the withdrawal of Maryam ‘Shetty’ Shettima’s nomination from the ministerial list.

President Bola Tinubu had forwarded an additional 19 names of ministerial nominees, including Shetty, but her nomination received mixed reactions on social media.

However, the president later withdrew her nomination and replaced her with Maigari Mahmud from Kano State.

Expressing Sympathy for Maryam Shetty:

Salihu Tanko Yakasai took to Twitter to express his sympathy for Maryam Shetty.

Regardless of whether she was qualified for the ministerial position or not, Yakasai pitied the health practitioner.

He saw the withdrawal of her nomination as an embarrassing and humiliating experience for her, which might have a lasting impact on her career and reputation.

Blaming the Nomination and Withdrawal Process:

Yakasai placed the blame on the process that led to the nomination and subsequent withdrawal of Maryam Shetty’s name.

He believed that the entire process was flawed, which resulted in her being put in such a position of embarrassment.

He questioned the integrity and transparency of the process that allowed her name to be nominated in the first place, only to be withdrawn later.

The withdrawal of Maryam Shetty’s nomination from the ministerial list has sparked reactions from Nigerians on social media, with Salihu Tanko Yakasai expressing his pity for her and criticizing the nomination and withdrawal process.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough and transparent selection processes for ministerial appointments to avoid such situations in the future.
