Things have gone from bad to worse in the ongoing fallout between ex-Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe and his former party.

And now, the Great Yarmouth MP says he’s had enough—he’s calling in the lawyers.

Accusations, Fallout, and a Public Feud

Rupert Lowe, who once chaired Southampton Football Club and was one of Reform’s five MPs elected in last summer’s general election, has announced that he’s launching defamation proceedings against key Reform Party figures—including none other than party leader Nigel Farage himself.

This move comes after explosive allegations were made against Lowe in early March by Reform chairman Zia Yusuf and chief whip Lee Anderson.

In a public statement, they claimed Lowe was under investigation following complaints from two female staff members, and that he had allegedly made physical threats against Yusuf.

Lowe Fires Back With Defamation Claim

Lowe, now sitting in Parliament as an independent after having the party whip removed, has fiercely denied all the accusations.

He insists the claims were completely false and says they were part of a smear campaign launched after he dared to challenge Farage’s leadership publicly.

In a newly released statement, Lowe said he has officially instructed the law firm Brett Wilson LLP to begin legal action over what he describes as serious damage to his personal and professional reputation.

“Published to Millions” and “Harmful to My Name”

Lowe stated that the March 7 allegations, signed off by both Yusuf and Anderson, accused him of workplace bullying and making violent threats—claims he categorically denies.

He said the public nature of the accusations, and the fact they were read by millions, have had a severe impact on his name and credibility.

“I believe it was published as part of a concerted smear campaign against me after I made comments about the party’s leader Nigel Farage,” Lowe said in his statement.

Taking the Fight to the High Court if Needed

Calling on Farage, Anderson, and Yusuf to retract their statements, Lowe said he would rather not escalate the matter, but he’s prepared to take it to the High Court if they don’t do the “right thing.”

“Whilst I have no desire to litigate,” Lowe added, “I will do what is necessary to ensure my reputation is restored.”

Silence From Reform UK… So Far

As of now, there’s been no official comment from Reform UK or any of the individuals named in Lowe’s legal claim.

The silence from the party leadership only adds to the tension surrounding this very public and increasingly bitter dispute.

With legal proceedings now in motion, this internal war within the Reform Party shows no signs of quieting down anytime soon.
