In a surprising turn of events, Republican Congressman and former Navy SEAL, Dan Crenshaw, found himself in the midst of controversy after a hot mic moment where he allegedly threatened former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The incident occurred following an interview with GB News, a British conservative news outlet.
When reporter Steven Edginton asked if Crenshaw had ever met Carlson, the congressman responded by saying, “If I ever meet him, I’ll f***ing kill him,” later calling Carlson “the worst person.”
A Heated Exchange Over Ukraine and Foreign Policy
Crenshaw’s remarks came after a tense interview where he criticized Carlson’s stance on American aid to Ukraine.
The Texas representative stated that Carlson “doesn’t know what he’s talking about” in regard to his opposition to supporting Ukraine.
Politico reported that this sharp exchange set the stage for further public clashes between the two figures.
However, when Marjorie Taylor Greene, a known ally of Carlson, confronted Crenshaw on social media asking if he had threatened her friend, Crenshaw denied it, laughing off the accusation.
Despite his denial, Edginton posted a clip proving Crenshaw’s words, although it was later removed by GB News.
Carlson Fires Back With a Challenge
In typical Carlson fashion, the former Fox News host fired back at Crenshaw.
He invited the congressman to join him for an interview, challenging him: “Why don’t you come sit for an interview and we’ll see how you do? I’ll send you my address.”
This was just the latest exchange in a series of jabs between the two.
Carlson had previously commented that Crenshaw wasn’t “emotionally prepared to lead anything” and even called him “the most liberal, left-wing person” he’d ever met.
Previous Hostility Between Crenshaw and Carlson
The animosity between Crenshaw and Carlson isn’t new.
In a post on social media last April, Crenshaw lashed out at Carlson, labeling him a “click chaser.
” He accused the former Fox News host of using his platform to attack America’s allies and defend its enemies, particularly criticizing his role in spreading false narratives for personal gain.
Crenshaw also claimed that Carlson’s “veneer of faux intellectualism” was quickly unraveling, leaving him exposed as a “cowardly, know-nothing elitist.”
Carlson’s Support for Russia and Zelensky’s Response
The latest tension comes amid Carlson’s ongoing support for Russia’s actions in Ukraine, including a controversial visit to Moscow for an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Carlson has made explosive claims about U.S. efforts to assassinate Putin, as well as accusations against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of being a dictator.
Zelensky quickly pushed back, accusing Carlson of parroting Russian propaganda and telling him to “stop working for Putin” in a fiery response.
Zelensky went on to highlight the absurdity of Carlson’s criticism, noting the irony of being called a dictator by someone seemingly endorsing the words of an actual autocrat, Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky reminded the world that Putin had been in power for over three decades, violating Ukraine’s territorial integrity and murdering political opponents.
In this heated back-and-forth, it’s clear that the rivalry between Crenshaw and Carlson, as well as Carlson’s controversial foreign policy stance, shows no sign of cooling off anytime soon.
