The meeting took place on the sidelines of the summit focused on a new financing pact in Paris, France.

In recent days, President Tinubu joined other world leaders in Paris for discussions on the consensus for redesigning the global financial architecture.

The aim of this redesign is to prioritize poverty reduction, debt restructuring or cancellation, and address the needs of vulnerable countries affected by climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic.


President Tinubu’s First Foreign Trip as President:

This trip marks President Tinubu’s first international visit since assuming office.

He arrived in Paris on Tuesday to attend the two-day summit held at Palais Brongniart, which serves as the venue for the event.

Global Finance Pact Closing at Palais Brongniart:

President Tinubu was present at Palais Brongniart for the closing of the Global Finance Pact in Paris.

The summit, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, aims to establish a new financial order that provides increased financial resources to support developing countries in their energy transition efforts and poverty reduction endeavors while respecting the sovereignty of each nation.
