The tumultuous scene, captured on social media, depicted youths brandishing machetes in a confrontation near Adventure Island theme park.

The situation quickly escalated, spanning the seafront and High Street, prompting a swift police response.

Footage circulating online shows hooded individuals engaged in combat with large machetes, as startled visitors from the nearby theme park hurriedly fled on foot to evade the armed youths.

The alarming confrontation unfolded in close proximity to public areas, instilling panic among bystanders.

Chief Superintendent Morgan Cronin assured the public of safety measures in response to the incident.

A dispersal order has been enforced across strategic locations such as Marine Parade, Pier Hill, High Street, and Western Esplanade, alongside both train stations.

This measure, initiated from 4:20 PM on Tuesday until 4:00 PM on Wednesday, aims to restore order and ensure community well-being.
