Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly staged an incredible extra-time victory in their Egyptian Premier League clash against ENPPI on Saturday

ENPPI took a 76th-minute lead through Mostafa Shalaby and looked well on course to upsetting their more illustrious opponents as the clock ticked past the 90-minute mark.

However, Al Ahly were not to be denied and defender Ali Maaloul scored in the 95th and 97th minutes to give Jingles’ team an unlikely 2-1 win.

The three points would’ve eased some mounting pressure on Mosimane and his team who had gone four league matches without a victory prior to kick-off.

Mosimane elected to start Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau on the bench, but he was introduced into the fray after 72 minutes.

The win saw Al Ahly stay in third place in the standings with 37 points after 16 matches.

They trail log-leaders Zamalek by four points and second-placed Pyramids by two points, but do have three and two matches in hand, respectively, over those two opponents.

Al Ahly will next be in action at home against 18th – and bottom side – Eastern Company on Wednesday, 25 May at 20:00 (SA time) in their last outing before their CAF Champions League final showdown against Wydad Athletic Club on Monday, 30 May.
