Peter Shalulile now has 21 goals for the season

The Brazilians opened the scoring in the 19th minute when a free-kick was taken quickly to George Maluleka, whose diagonal ball found Mosa Lebusa who headed back across goal for Gaston Sirino to side-foot home.

Mamelodi Sundowns doubled the lead four minutes later when Lyle Lakay delivered an inswinging corner from the right and an unmarked Shalulile headed home.

It was 3-0 with less than half an hour on the clock with Shalulile grabbing his brace.

Masandawana moved the ball down the right and Themba Zwane played a one-two with Bradley Ralani before finding Shalulile for an easy tap-in from close range.

Shalulile completed his hat-trick on the hour mark.

A deep George Maluleka delivery reached Lakay who squared the ball into the box. Thabani Zuke read the pass, but tripped over the ball and Namibian international fired into the bottom corner.

Pavol Safranko, having come on as a substitute, netted the fifth in the 74th minute when Lebohang Maboe’s cross was cleared back to him and he offloaded to Zwane, who played it to Safranko to fire home from eight yards out.

The rout was completed in the 85th when Neo Maema teed up Maboe to strike, but a rebound landed at the feet of Kermit Erasmus to tap home.
