Pastor Paseka ‘Mboro’ Motsoeneng, who describes himself as a prophet, will remain in jail for a bit longer.
The Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court has postponed his bail hearing, extending his stay behind bars.
Arrest and Initial Bail Denial
Mboro, along with his son and bodyguard, was arrested in August after they allegedly brandished dangerous weapons at Matsediso Primary School in Katlehong on August 5.
On August 19, Mboro and his bodyguard, Clement Baloyi, were denied bail due to insufficient evidence supporting their release.
Mboro’s son was released on a warning.
Pastor Mboro’s Courtroom Drama
During his latest court appearance, Mboro ignored his lawyer’s advice not to speak with the media.
He claimed that his high profile was causing him to be unfairly targeted, while his lawyer argued that Mboro was being victimized and prejudiced.
Charges Against Pastor Mboro
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has outlined a range of charges against Mboro and his co-accused.
These include kidnapping, possessing dangerous and unlicensed firearms, assault through threats, pointing firearms, discharging a gun, and malicious damage to property.
Custody Dispute Involving Grandchildren
The conflict reportedly stems from a custody dispute involving Mboro’s grandchildren, who are students at Matsediso Primary School.
The disagreement began after their mother passed away in April this year.
