They referred to Sara’s death as an “incident.” The video marked their first public comments since the discovery of Sara’s lifeless body, which had endured “multiple and extensive injuries” over an extended period, as revealed by a post-mortem examination.
Contradicting Statements and Family Dynamics Ms. Batool, in the video statement, addressed the misinformation surrounding Sara’s passing. She disputed reports that Sara had fallen down the stairs and broken her neck, attributing this narrative to a Pakistani media outlet. Ms. Batool painted a bleak picture of their family’s situation in Pakistan, explaining how they were in hiding due to concerns for their safety, leading to a lack of food and normalcy for the children. She reiterated their willingness to cooperate with UK authorities and face the legal proceedings.
Sara’s Mother Speaks Out Sara’s mother, Olga Sharif, revealed her own struggles in an interview on Polish television. She spoke of how Ms. Batool attempted to prevent her from seeing her two children, one of whom is believed to be in Pakistan. Olga expressed her concerns about the dramatic shift in her children’s behavior, as they went from eagerly wanting to speak with her to avoiding contact and using hurtful language.
