Kendall Jenner has stepped beyond the world of fashion modelling and into acting, taking the lead in a striking new short film inspired by the glamorous visual style of 1960s Italian cinema.
The 30-year-old model stars in La Passeggiata, an art-house film created for the September cover story of film magazine A Rabbit’s Foot.
Jenner also provides the narration, marking a notable new step as she explores a different side of the entertainment industry.
The project arrives as Jenner is spending time in Venice for the Film Festival, adding to the growing interest surrounding her move into cinema.
A Fashion Shoot With a 1960s Italian Influence
For the film and accompanying photographs, Jenner embraces the aesthetic of a classic 1960s Italian movie star, appearing in sheer lingerie, stockings and other glamorous looks.
The film was written and directed by Fatima Khan, creative director of A Rabbit’s Foot, and takes inspiration from La Passeggiata — the traditional Italian custom of taking an early evening stroll.
Khan transports that idea from Italy to Los Angeles, Jenner’s home city, using the streets and fashion world of the city as the backdrop for an atmospheric exploration of celebrity, image and identity.
Jenner appears in several carefully constructed scenes, including portraying an actress at a funeral, walking through the streets and visiting a fashion atelier.
The Film Explores What It Means to Be Seen
Rather than functioning as a conventional acting showcase, La Passeggiata examines the complicated relationship between visibility and understanding.
Khan said Jenner’s extraordinary level of public exposure made her particularly suited to the project’s central idea.
“Kendall has spent almost two decades as one of the most photographed women in the world,” Khan explained, adding that she wanted to work with that reality instead of attempting to conceal it.
The film ultimately focuses on the difference between being observed by millions of people and being genuinely understood by them.
Its closing line, delivered by Jenner, is: “Because movement leaves room for mystery.”
For Khan, the line became the central idea behind the film and its exploration of the distance between being seen and actually being known.
Jenner Opens Up About Life Under Constant Attention
Speaking to A Rabbit’s Foot alongside the film’s photographs, Jenner reflected on the unusual experience of growing up and living in the public eye.
She said modern celebrity can feel relentless because there is little separation between someone’s public image and private life.
According to Jenner, being recognised does not necessarily mean that people understand the person behind the public persona.
She described being seen as something different from having someone genuinely see into who you are.
The model also said fame has taught her to place a greater value on privacy.
At times, she turns to nature and takes walks where she can experience a sense of anonymity away from the attention that comes with being famous.
Cinema Has Long Fascinated the Model
Although Jenner is now experimenting with acting, she said her interest in cinema goes back to childhood.

Jenner recalled rushing home as a child to watch movies and said she continues to discover films that inspire her.
