The disappearance of a 17-year-old Oregon teen has left her family frantic, as authorities now believe she may have made her way to Las Vegas.
Abigail Prewitt was last seen on September 1 in Eagle Point, in southwest Oregon, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Her mother, Kathryn Prewitt, has issued emotional pleas for her daughter’s safe return, sharing that she has had no contact with Abigail since her disappearance—a situation she describes as “very out of character” for her daughter.
“Abby, we miss you and love you so much. Please let us know if you are okay,” her mother said.
“You are an amazing person, and we hope that you realize that soon.”
Previous Incidents Heighten Concern
This is not the first time Abigail has gone missing.
On September 5, Kathryn wrote on Facebook that her daughter had left from Fish Lake and might be heading to Medford—or possibly Klamath, Chiloquin, or even Las Vegas.
Earlier in August, Abigail had gone missing as well, prompting her older sister to alert friends and family online.
Fortunately, she returned home on August 18, bringing temporary relief to her family.
“Thank the Lord that we have our sweet daughter back with us!” her mother wrote at the time.
Mother Shares Updates and Personal Details
Kathryn has been actively sharing updates, including pictures of Abigail both with and without false eyelashes, and noting that she may have changed her hair color.
The teen is described as standing 5-foot-6, weighing 120 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair featuring auburn highlights.
“My precious daughter, I love you so very much,” her mother posted recently.
“Abby, please let us know you are okay. We love you and are so worried about you. Nothing will ever change that.”
Celebrating Milestones Amid Worry
Despite the ongoing stress of her daughter’s disappearance, Kathryn has highlighted Abigail’s achievements.
In June, she expressed pride in her daughter’s early high school graduation, calling it a “shining testament to her unshakeable strength and determination.”
“Abby’s unwavering dedication has yielded outstanding results,” she wrote. “She continues to uplift us daily with her incredible spirit.
We are eternally proud of you, Abigail!!”
