Oasis fans who missed out on tickets last weekend are getting a second opportunity to attend the band’s highly anticipated reunion shows.
The Manchester rock legends are giving dedicated fans who were in the Ticketmaster queue a chance to grab tickets for the newly announced Wembley dates.
If you were waiting in line but didn’t manage to snag a ticket, you might be eligible for this new chance.
How to Enter the Ballot
The band shared the news on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, explaining that if you were logged into Ticketmaster on August 31 and were trying for specific shows, you might receive an email inviting you to a special ballot.
However, just entering the ballot doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a ticket.
The band warns that ticket availability will be very limited, so it’s crucial to use the email associated with your Ticketmaster account when registering.
Registration and Eligibility
Invitations to the ballot will be sent out tonight (Saturday), so keep an eye on your inbox and junk mail folder for an email.
If you get an invite, you’ll need to register quickly to be entered into the ballot for a chance to buy tickets to the final Wembley shows.
Remember, only those who received an email are eligible.
Any attempts to register with an email not on the invitation list will be disqualified.
UK-Only Ballot
Oasis has updated their announcement to indicate that this opportunity is available only to fans in the UK.
The extra shows at Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28 next year were added due to overwhelming demand.
This move comes after many fans were disappointed when they couldn’t get tickets for the original run of shows.
Ticketing Controversy
The ticketing process for Oasis’s reunion tour has been controversial.
With millions of fans vying for around one million tickets across 17 shows, queues for some dates reached over 600,000.
Some tickets were resold on sites like Viagogo for as much as £10,000, leading to frustration among fans.
The introduction of ‘dynamic pricing’—a method that adjusts ticket prices based on demand—added to the discontent.
Standing tickets initially priced at £150 were being resold for up to £350, which drew criticism even from Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
Band’s Response and Public Sentiment
Liam Gallagher responded to the backlash with a defiant attitude, expressing his satisfaction with the tour despite the criticism.
The band tried to distance itself from the pricing controversy, stating that decisions on ticketing were made by their management and promoters.
Despite the issues, Oasis’s return has been a major success.
Their debut album, Definitely Maybe, topped the charts for the first time in 14 years, and their singles are making waves again.
Economic Impact
The reunion tour is also expected to have a significant economic impact, potentially boosting the UK’s economy by approximately £487 million through travel, accommodation, merchandise, and more.
The excitement around the band’s return shows that despite some setbacks, their legacy remains strong.
