Iheanacho, a pivotal player for Leicester City, is reportedly progressing well in his recovery from a muscular ailment. Gusau conveyed, “I have spoken to Iheanacho; he’s recovering fast and has even started running.”

The optimistic president anticipates Iheanacho’s presence in Lagos, where the team is scheduled for a dinner on January 9.

President Gusau expressed appreciation for the support of the Nigerian government in the nation’s pursuit of a fourth African title.

He voiced confidence in the Super Eagles, stating, “I have confidence in the team,” and highlighted the burgeoning talent among Nigerian players performing exceptionally in their European clubs.

Gusau shared his optimism for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, emphasizing the remarkable abilities of the team’s emerging talents.

He pointed out, “We have the best player in Africa in Victor Osimhen, but he has yet to win the Africa Cup.” The president’s belief in the team’s potential underscores the aspirations of making Nigeria proud in the tournament.
