Police and fire services have been dispatched to the area to handle the situation.
Traffic Cameras and Monitoring System Indicate Delays and Road Closure
Traffic cameras located at the Nantgarw junction on the A470 confirm the presence of long delays in the affected area.

The traffic monitoring system, Inrix, has reported a closure of the A473 Gwaelod-Y-Garth Road in both directions.
The closure is a result of the accident, causing queuing traffic from Taffs Fall Road to the Upper Boat Interchange on the A470.
