Local Gospel Singer Keyla Silva Accidentally Shot During Fair in Goiânia Brazil by Unidentified Gunman

Keyla Silva, 49, was simply paying for an item at a kiosk when a gunman opened fire, missing his intended target.

The assailant, still at large, tragically killed a man and then fired at the man’s girlfriend. Unfortunately, the bullet hit Silva instead.

She was quickly taken to the Governador Ótavio Lage de Siqueira State Emergency Hospital, where she remained as of Thursday.

On Wednesday, the hospital released a statement saying Silva was in stable condition, conscious, and breathing on her own.

Despite this relief, the bullet was still lodged in her hip, posing a risk of infection.

Her husband, Max Costa, expressed concern over the complexity and risks involved in the necessary surgery to remove the projectile.

Surveillance footage from the fair captured the chaotic moments as shots were fired.

People were seen running and diving to the ground to avoid being hit.

Another camera showed a person, presumably the gunman, firing towards the ground.

Despite questioning three individuals, the police have yet to apprehend the shooter.

A Regular Sunday Tradition Turned Tragic

Costa shared that he and his wife, who also engaged in missionary work, visited the fair every Sunday to enjoy dessert.

Reflecting on the incident, he remarked, “My wife was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

She went to buy a pastry for my mother-in-law, and when she went to pay, a man arrived and shot a young man who was behind her.”

Moving Forward

The incident has left a mark on the community, highlighting the unpredictable nature of violence.

As Silva continues to recover, her story serves as a poignant reminder of how quickly life can change in the blink of an eye.
