Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi Attends Election Petitions Tribunal for Case Against 2023 Presidential Election Results

…By Larry John for TDPel Media. On Thursday, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), made an appearance at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja.

He was there to observe the ongoing proceedings regarding his petition against the results of the 2023 presidential election.

Alongside Obi, other LP members including Vice Presidential candidate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, National Chairman Comrade Julius Abure, and LP Presidential Campaign Council Director-General Akin Osuntokun were present in court.

Notable figures such as LP National Women Leader Dudu Manuga and other party leaders were also seen in attendance.

Continuation of Petition Hearing and Presentation of Witnesses

The petitioners, LP and Peter Obi, were scheduled to continue presenting witnesses and submitting evidence challenging the declaration of President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

Earlier in the week, the tribunal had announced that the trial would conclude on August 5.

During the latest proceedings, the court allocated three hours for the hearing of the LP’s petition and directed them to call their first witness.

The petitioners’ lawyer, Livy Uzoukwu (SAN), had previously indicated that they would be presenting 50 witnesses.

However, when questioned by the court, Uzoukwu confirmed that they only had one witness available for the day’s proceedings.
