Kgaogelo Sekgota Reflects on His Challenging Two-Year Stint with Kaizer Chiefs Before Moving to Magesi FC

Kgaogelo Sekgota, the newly signed winger for Magesi FC, recently opened up about his experiences with the Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs.

Having spent two seasons with Amakhosi from 2021 to 2023, Sekgota’s tenure there didn’t quite meet his expectations, which led him to move on to Stellenbosch FC.

His stint at Stellies was brief, lasting only six months before he was released. Now, Sekgota has joined Magesi FC, a newly promoted side in the Betway Premiership, and was officially introduced on Friday.

Sekgota’s Honest Reflection

When reflecting on his time at Chiefs, Sekgota was candid about his experience.

“My time at Chiefs was incredible.

Although I didn’t get as much game time as I hoped, I believe it was a period that had its purpose,” he shared with FARPost.

He emphasized the importance of embracing new challenges and learning from each stage of one’s career.

“As a player, you can always strive to improve. However, when it’s time to move on to a new chapter, you have to appreciate the journey and face the next challenge with an open mind.”

Embracing the Journey

Sekgota is proud of his stint with Kaizer Chiefs, despite the challenges.

“I don’t want to sugarcoat it—Chiefs is a big, professional team. From the technical staff to Chairman Bobby Motaung and Kaizer Motaung Jr., everyone is top-notch. I don’t regret my time there and I’m proud of my achievements with the club,” he stated.

He acknowledges that success and failure are both part of the journey and believes that giving your best is what truly matters.

“In life and in football, you can’t predict where you’ll end up, but you can always do your best and face the results with grace.”
