Kaizer Chiefs Player Gaston Sirino Reunites with Mamelodi Sundowns’ Marcelo Allende, Arthur Sales, and Lucas Ribero Costa for a Fun Teqball Match in Gauteng

Recently, Kaizer Chiefs’ star Gaston Sirino was caught having some fun playing teqball with a few Mamelodi Sundowns players.

Marcelo Allende, Arthur Sales, and Lucas Ribero Costa were all part of the action.

The video of this impromptu game, first shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Football SA, has quickly gone viral, attracting thousands of comments and reactions from fans.

The post was cheekily captioned, “Amigos in Gauteng Sirino, Ribeiro, Sales and Allende enjoy a game of Teqball.”

The Buzz Around Teqball

While the South American players are clearly enjoying their downtime during the international break, many fans are curious about teqball itself.

For those unfamiliar, teqball is played on a curved table and blends elements of sepak takraw and table tennis.

Players use any part of their body except their arms and hands to hit a football back and forth.

Sirino’s Connection to Mamelodi Sundowns

Before joining Kaizer Chiefs for the 2024/2025 season, Gaston Sirino was a notable player for Mamelodi Sundowns.

He played with the club from 2018 to 2024, making over 100 appearances.

Despite his move, Sirino maintains strong ties with his former teammates, who he still considers family.

This isn’t the first time these South American players have made headlines for their shared moments; back in 2022, Sirino and Allende also gained attention with their viral tennis matches.

Arthur Sales and His New Team

For Arthur Sales, settling into a new team and country can be challenging, but bonding with fellow South Americans helps ease the transition.

The 22-year-old Brazilian striker was signed by Mamelodi Sundowns in July from Belgian side Lommel SK.

Before his move to Belgium in 2021, Sales began his career with Vasco da Gama and was loaned out twice before joining Sundowns.

South American Influence in the PSL

Did you know that South American players have made a significant impact in the PSL over the years?

Mamelodi Sundowns, in particular, has a rich history of signing South American talent, with more than 12 players from the continent gracing their squad.

The club’s affection for South American players includes legends like Eduardo Ferreira and Fabio da Costa.
