Gunmen Launch Nighttime Attack on Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State

In a concerning incident on Saturday night, a group of armed men, suspected to be bandit terrorists, launched an attack on the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State, located in the Northwest region of Nigeria.

The attack triggered a fierce gun battle between the assailants and Nigerian military personnel stationed at the Federal University.

Students Confirm Attack and Student Abduction

Several students at the university confirmed the attack, underscoring the severity of the situation. It was reported that the terrorists, during the course of the attack, managed to abduct another group of students from the institution.

While this claim made by the students remains to be independently verified, one student expressed the urgent need for prayers, as the university found itself under yet another assault by terrorists.

Terrorists Strike at Damba Area, Gusau

According to reports, the attackers invaded the students’ residential area located at Damba Area in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State. It was in this location that they successfully abducted students from the university.

This incident follows a recent attack in which terrorists invaded the university and looted all the available medications from the university clinic, further underscoring the threats faced by the educational institution.

Ongoing Kidnappings by Gunmen

This attack is not an isolated event, as gunmen had previously kidnapped some students from the university weeks ago. During the previous incident, the assailants stormed the students’ residence in Sabon-Gida, known as Nazeer Sabon-Gida, and abducted a number of female students. The exact count of students taken during this earlier event remains unverified.
