Jude Bellingham Shares Surprising Encounter with Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti Who Joked About Signing His Brother Jobe Instead in England

Jude Bellingham recently shared a surprising and somewhat humorous encounter with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

In a candid moment revealed in his new documentary series “Out of the Floodlights,” Bellingham recounted how Ancelotti jokingly suggested that he had mistakenly signed the wrong brother.

This comment came right after Jude’s younger brother, Jobe, had an impressive performance for Sunderland in a Championship match.

A Surprise Twist on the Field

In August 2023, Jobe Bellingham scored two goals to secure a 2-1 win for Sunderland against Rotherham.

Jude, who was watching from a distance with Ancelotti, was initially thrilled by his brother’s success.

However, this joy quickly turned to shock when Ancelotti joked about signing Jobe and playing him in Jude’s own midfield position.

Ancelotti’s Bold Joke

During the documentary, Bellingham shared, “I was in shock that he scored twice.

As we were leaving, Ancelotti turned to me and said, ‘F***ing hell, we brought the wrong one.’

I thought he was joking, but he said, ‘No seriously, I’m going to bring him in and play him in your position.’”

Jude admitted feeling the pressure of Ancelotti’s joke, though the manager eventually gave him a reassuring smirk.

Redemption on the Field

Later that day, Bellingham proved his worth by scoring twice himself in a match against Almeria.

This performance reaffirmed why Real Madrid had pursued him so aggressively.

Bellingham’s move to Madrid came in a record-breaking £113 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund, and he was handed the prestigious No 5 jersey, previously worn by the legendary Zinedine Zidane.

A Humbling Moment

Jude reflected on receiving his new shirt, saying, “I’ll never forget seeing my name with the No 5 on it.”

He acknowledged Zidane’s incredible legacy but emphasized his own goal: “I’m not coming here to be Zidane.

I’m trying to be Jude Bellingham who continues the No 5 legacy.”

Recent Struggles and Recovery

Bellingham had an outstanding season last year, scoring 23 goals in 42 appearances, including 19 in LaLiga.

However, his current season started with a setback due to a muscle issue sustained during training.

Despite this, he is expected to return to action soon and could be available for the upcoming match against Real Sociedad.
