Johnny Depp and British comedy star Paul Whitehouse have revived one of The Fast Show‘s most recognisable moments, more than two decades after Depp made his memorable appearance on the BBC sketch series.
The pair reunited backstage at London’s O2 on Wednesday night, where Depp was performing with rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires.
‘Suit You, Sir!’ Returns
The reunion quickly turned into a nostalgic recreation of the famous “Suit You, Sir!” sketch.
In a video shared by Whitehouse’s wife, Dr Mine Conkbayir, the two friends stood with their arms around each other and delivered the sketch’s familiar catchphrase before jokingly puckering up for a kiss.
Conkbayir captioned the footage by celebrating the reunion and praising Hollywood Vampires’ performance, while affectionately declaring her love for Depp.
She later shared a photograph of the pair kissing, joking that wedding bells could eventually follow.
Depp’s Unlikely Fast Show Connection
Depp originally appeared in The Fast Show’s 2000 farewell special, several years after the programme’s initial run from 1994 to 1997.
His cameo placed him alongside Whitehouse and Mark Williams in the “Suit You, Sir!” sketch, creating one of the show’s more unexpected celebrity appearances.
The Hollywood actor has subsequently spoken warmly about the experience, describing the cameo as one of his proudest achievements and praising Whitehouse as an exceptional actor.
Fans Call for a New Collaboration

Speaking to The Guardian in 2015, Whitehouse recalled Depp’s enthusiastic support for his acting work.
He also joked that despite Depp’s lavish praise, the American actor had never followed through on a promise to help him after their work together.
Depp Still Wants Another Fast Show Appearance
Depp has previously made it clear that he would happily return to The Fast Show if the opportunity arose.
The actor has described the programme as some of the funniest and most intelligent television he had seen, saying he would return “in a millisecond” if Whitehouse and the original team were involved.
His latest reunion with Whitehouse suggests that the affection between the two remains strong.
The Fast Show Legacy Lives On
Although the original series ended in the 1990s, The Fast Show has continued to make occasional returns through specials and reunions.
The core surviving cast — Whitehouse, Mark Williams, Simon Day, Charlie Higson, John Thomson and Arabella Weir — came together again in 2024 for An Evening with The Fast Show, marking three decades since the influential sketch series first appeared.
