Michelle Mone’s £19M London Home Sold Amid PPE Scandal Fallout: Inside the Lavish Townhouse

Michelle Mone’s Deluxe Townhouse Sale Amid PPE Fallout

Michelle Mone’s opulent £19 million London townhouse, known for its lavish interiors, has been sold for millions less than its original price amidst the fallout from the PPE scandal.

The Belgravia property boasted a sumptuous living room adorned with original artwork depicting her husband, Doug Barrowman, and Marilyn Monroe.

Price Reductions and Property Details

Initially listed for sale in December last year, the residence reportedly faced a significant price reduction by more than £3 million within a day of hitting the market.

The spacious 6,000 square-foot home, with six bedrooms and an array of amenities like a cinema, gym, swimming pool, and spa facilities, offered a blend of classical and contemporary designs.

PPE Scandal Investigation and Property Renovations

Baroness Mone and her husband, Doug Barrowman, currently under investigation for alleged fraud and bribery regarding the Government’s PPE contract, have denied the allegations.

The property, extensively renovated since 2011, boasted a design integrating classical elements with modern features.

Neighbourhood Controversies and Legal Probe

Neighbours expressed relief at the prospect of Mone’s family moving away, citing her perceived lack of neighborliness and frequent loud parties hosted by her adult children.

Meanwhile, lawyer Jonathan Coad, known for advocating for stricter Press regulations, faces scrutiny from his regulator over his involvement in spreading misinformation about Mone’s PPE connections.

Coad’s Apology and Regulatory Inquiry

Coad issued an apology after his role in circulating misleading information about Baroness Mone’s PPE contract involvement was exposed.

His statements to journalists contradicted the truth, leading to an investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) into potential breaches of the code.

Despite his claims of unintentional misinformation, the SRA is gathering information to determine the next steps in their inquiry.
