Indonesia has imposed a 10-year entry ban on British adult performer Bonnie Blue, whose real name is Tia Billinger, following her deportation after authorities deemed her activities could spark “public unrest.”
The 26-year-old was removed from the country this month after a police raid on a studio in Badung, a popular tourist area near Bali’s provincial capital, Denpasar.
Raid and Detention
During the raid, Billinger was detained alongside two British men and one Australian man on suspicion of producing pornographic content.
Police also reviewed Billinger’s phone and found “private video” footage, but officials clarified no charges were filed as the material was intended for private use rather than public distribution.
Immigration Statement
Yuldi Yusman, acting head of Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration, explained the rationale behind the ban:
“We found that they entered Indonesia using a visa on arrival for commercial content production that could potentially cause public unrest.
Therefore, we imposed a 10-year entry ban because these activities are not in line with the government’s efforts to maintain Bali’s quality tourism image and respect for local cultural values.”
Indonesia has strict laws against the production of pornography, which can result in up to 12 years in prison and fines of $360,000.
Minor Traffic Fine
Alongside the deportation, Billinger and her associate, 27-year-old Liam Andrew Jackson, were fined 200,000 rupiah (around $12) for traffic violations during the period of their stay.
Judge I Ketut Somanasa at Denpasar District Court noted that the offenses were committed “jointly and continuously.”
Seized Vehicle
Authorities also confiscated a dark blue pickup truck marked “Bang Bus” during the December 4 raid.
Reports suggest the vehicle had been untaxed since 2023 and allegedly repainted from white to blue without proper re-registration.
Background and Tourism Concerns
Billinger gained notoriety for her provocative stunts as an adult content creator.
Balinese authorities have increasingly voiced concerns over unruly behavior from foreign visitors, following multiple deportations of tourists, including several Russian influencers who posed naked at sacred sites.
The government has emphasized that such actions threaten Bali’s cultural values and the reputation of its tourism sector.
A Clear Message from Indonesia
The 10-year ban serves as a warning to foreign visitors engaging in activities deemed offensive or disruptive.
Indonesian authorities have stressed that maintaining the balance between tourism and local cultural respect remains a top priority, signaling zero tolerance for behavior that challenges societal norms.
What This Means for Bonnie Blue
For Billinger, the ban effectively bars her from returning to Indonesia for a decade.
The case underscores the strict enforcement of local laws and cultural standards, particularly in Bali, a region that relies heavily on tourism while maintaining strong cultural traditions.
