Football Legend George Weah
George Weah is a former Liberian professional footballer who played as a striker. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest African players of all time. Weah won the Ballon d’Or in 1995, becoming the first and only African player to do so.
Weah played for a number of top European clubs during his career, including Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Marseille. He won two Serie A titles with Milan and the FA Cup with Chelsea.
Weah entered politics after retiring from football. He ran for president of Liberia in 2005 but was unsuccessful. He ran again in 2017 and was elected, becoming the first former professional footballer to be elected head of state.
