GOVERNOR ABIODUN DECLARES INTENTION TO RUN FOR A SECOND TERM

The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun on Thursday officially declared his intention to seek for re-election in the forthcoming 2023 general election

Governor Abiodun made the declaration while addressing members of DA mandate group 2023 from Remo political zone comprising representative from Ikenne ,Sagamu and Remo North Local governments led by the Special Adviser to the governor on political matters, Honourable Adebiyi Adeleye at exco Chamber, Abeokuta after receiving all progressive Congress, APC governorship nomination form worth fifty million naira bought by the groups to support his candidature.

Governor Abiodun who appreciated the group for their support said the presentation of the nomination form was a testimony of acceptability of the current administration by the people of the state.

Thanking God for his victory during the last election, Governor Abiodun emphasised that the election was characterised by intimidation, harassment and crisis from his opponent.

The Governor assured that the nomination form would serve as an impetus and encouragement for him in his bid of seeking re-election in the coming election.

Appreciating members of the State Executive Council for their roles in the achievement recorded in the state, the Governor urged them to continue to work together in building the future of the state together.

Earlier the leader of the group, Honourable Adebiyi Adeleye in a remark said the group decided to buy the nomination form for Governor Dapo Abiodun to stop the insinuation being perpetrated by some people that the state is being run on borrowed structures.

Honourable Adeleye who described the governor as a good product worth investing on said the group which cut across all the wards and local governments across the state contributed the money to show appreciation for the enthronement of good governance in the state in the past three years.
