Fulham Re-Signs Ryan Sessegnon and Advances on £35 Million Deal for Arsenal’s Emile Smith-Rowe Amidst Ongoing Negotiations

In recent transfer news, Fulham is set to bring back free agent Ryan Sessegnon and is also in the process of negotiating a £35 million deal for Arsenal’s Emile Smith-Rowe.

This follows Arsenal’s rejection of an initial £30 million offer for the 23-year-old midfielder.

Smith-Rowe’s contract with Arsenal runs until 2026, and Crystal Palace has also shown interest in him.

He was absent from Arsenal’s recent 2-1 victory over Bournemouth in California, which led to Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, commenting on his situation. “There are things happening in the background right now.

We decided the best course was to keep him out of today’s game,” Arteta explained after the match.

Injury and Challenges

Smith-Rowe has struggled with a lengthy knee injury that limited his appearances to just 19 games last season, with only three starts in the Premier League.

After Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Luton in March, he spoke about his tough season, sharing with TNT Sports, “It’s been a long time since I started. It’s been a tough season for me. I was getting cramp after 50 minutes; I haven’t played as much as I would have liked.”

With speculation mounting about Smith-Rowe’s future, it’s clear he’s considering a move this summer to find more regular playing time.

Sessegnon’s Return

As for Ryan Sessegnon, the 24-year-old is making his return to Fulham after leaving them in 2019 to join Tottenham.

After a loan spell with Hoffenheim in 2020 and a subsequent return to Spurs, Sessegnon has now signed a two-year contract with Fulham, with an option for an additional year.
