In a shocking turn of events, a teenager once celebrated for his role in a BBC Children in Need promotional video now stands accused of a horrific crime.
Axel Rudakubana, who once donned the iconic Doctor Who trench coat for a 2018 fundraising clip, is charged with the murder of three young girls at a dance studio in Southport, Merseyside.
Rudakubana, now 17, starred in a 45-second clip encouraging viewers to raise money for Children in Need. The video featured him alongside child actors dressed as various incarnations of Doctor Who, delivering the message with enthusiasm.
As the association with the accused emerged, both the BBC and the talent agency responsible for the video swiftly deleted the footage.

The young actor appeared in court facing charges of murdering six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar.
He is also accused of ten attempted murders, including eight more children and two adults: dance teacher Leanne Lucas and businessman John Hayes, who had rushed to assist.
Initially, Rudakubana’s identity was protected due to his age. However, following a successful application by the Mail, the judge allowed his name to be disclosed.
