Federal Prison System Leaves Julie Chrisley’s Location Unknown, With Her Custody Now Handled by US Marshals in Atlanta, Georgia

Fans are buzzing with questions about the whereabouts of Julie Chrisley, the reality TV star, after the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) announced she is no longer in their custody.

The news broke last week when a Reddit user shared a screenshot from the BOP’s website, showing that Julie was no longer listed as being in their care.

Current Status and Custody Confusion

According to the US Marshals Service, Julie Chrisley, now 51, is currently under their custody as she awaits her re-sentencing in federal court.

The Marshals handle the transportation of federal prisoners, but her exact location remains a mystery.

There is a federal prison transfer facility in Atlanta, Georgia, and Julie is scheduled to appear in court on September 25.

It’s unclear why Julie was removed from BOP custody earlier than expected. The BOP has kept her location confidential, citing concerns over safety, security, and privacy.

A spokesperson from the bureau explained that prisoners might be temporarily outside BOP custody for court hearings, medical treatment, or other reasons.

Despite this, the inmate locator still shows Julie’s release date as May 7, 2028, with her current status listed as “Not in BOP custody.”

Savannah Chrisley Speaks Out

Julie’s daughter Savannah, who also appeared on the reality show “Chrisley Knows Best,” recently discussed her parents’ legal troubles on her podcast.

Although she didn’t address her mother’s current location, Savannah shared her concerns about the harsh conditions Julie faced at FMC (Federal Medical Center) in Lexington, Kentucky.

Savannah revealed that the heat there was so intense it made Julie physically ill.

The prison reportedly had no air conditioning outside the visitation room, leading to conditions that Savannah described as inhumane.

Legal Proceedings and Sentencing Updates

Julie and her husband Todd Chrisley were convicted of 12 counts of financial crimes in 2022 and sentenced to a combined total of 19 years in early 2023.

However, their sentences have since been adjusted.

An appeals court found errors in the original sentencing, and in June, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals vacated Julie’s sentence due to insufficient evidence linking her to crimes before 2007.

The court upheld the guilty verdict, meaning Julie will be resentenced later this month.

Todd Chrisley, who was convicted of defrauding banks and conspiring to defraud the IRS, is still set to serve out his 10-year sentence until January 2033.

As of now, he will not be resentenced.

“Chrisley Knows Best,” which debuted in 2014, followed the lives of Todd and his family.

The show ended abruptly in 2023 following their convictions, which were the result of a thorough investigation by the Department of Justice.

Julie’s re-sentencing hearing is still set for September 25, where she will face a new sentence for bank fraud and tax evasion.
