At just seven career starts, Eight On Eighteen was up against seasoned older rivals, but his explosive turn of foot in the final stretch, after coming from 10 lengths behind, proved too much for the competition.
Second Place Battle and Close Finish
In a tight race, Oriental Charm was the resilient pace-setter, holding onto second place just half a length behind the winner.
The field was closely contested, with Montien, See It Again, and Rascallion completing the top five.
A total of nine horses finished within three lengths of each other, making it an exciting and fiercely competitive showdown.
A Successful Debut Over Middle Distances
Despite this being Eight On Eighteen‘s first race over a middle distance, he handled the new conditions effortlessly.
Starting as the favorite at 18/10, he justified the betting market’s faith in him, defeating his more experienced rivals with impressive ease.

Earlier in the day, the Maine Chance Farms Majorca Stakes (WFA) Grade 1 over 1,600 meters saw Rascova earn a narrow victory over the favorite, Double Grand Slam.
This win marked a career highlight for Rascova, a filly bred at Cheveley Stud, who despite her small stature, has shown great heart and determination on the track.
Trainer Glen Kotzen praised the filly for her bravery, and jockey Gavin Lerena executed a perfect strategy to take the win.
Double Grand Slam Falls Short in Photo Finish
Double Grand Slam, who had a less-than-ideal start and faced some trouble during the race, made a valiant effort but ultimately missed out in a photo finish.
According to Gallop track data, Double Grand Slam covered more ground than the winner and was just short in the final moments.
Other Notable Performances
Three-year-old Roccapina ran impressively to take third place, while Kinda Wonderful finished fourth.
Meanwhile, Fatal Flaw, who had led early in the race, weakened as the race went on, failing to meet expectations after her betting odds dropped from 15/10 to 5/1.
