CAN, Political Leaders, and Religious Figures Congratulate Muslims on Eid-el-Maulud

Nigerian Leaders and Religious Figures Extend Warm Wishes for Eid-el-Maulud

On the occasion of the celebration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammed, several prominent figures in Nigeria have extended their felicitations to the Muslim community.

Among those conveying their warm wishes are the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and the President of the Senate, Godwill Akpabio.

Calls for Peace and Reflection

In separate statements issued on Wednesday, these leaders emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and encouraged Muslims to use this period for reflection and to seek the intercession of Prophet Mohammed regarding the numerous challenges facing the country.

CAN’s Message of Unity

The Christian Association of Nigeria, represented by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, acknowledged Nigeria’s diverse society, highlighting that the strength of the nation lies in its rich diversity.

Archbishop Okoh emphasized the need for mutual respect, understanding, and peaceful coexistence among all religious communities.

He extended heartfelt wishes for a peaceful celebration to the Muslim faithful in Nigeria.

Peter Obi’s Call for Prayer and Love

Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, called on Muslims to pray for lasting peace in Nigeria.

He encouraged the extension of “brotherly love” to fellow countrymen and women, irrespective of their tribe or religious beliefs.

Obi pointed out various challenges faced by Nigeria, including disunity, poverty, unemployment, and insecurity, and called for collective efforts to address them.

Ganduje’s Message of Support

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, sent warm wishes to Muslims and urged them to continue supporting and praying for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he addresses economic and security challenges in the country.
