Donald Trump recently opened up about his close friendship with UFC president Dana White, praising the MMA leader’s unique qualities and strong loyalty.
Their bond goes back more than 20 years when Trump hosted two UFC events at his now-closed Atlantic City casino in the early 2000s.
Since then, White has stood by Trump through his various political endeavors, even speaking at Republican National Conventions to endorse Trump’s presidential campaigns.
Unmatched Leadership in the UFC
During an interview on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, Trump shared his admiration for White, explaining that no one else could run the UFC the way he does.
“There’s nobody like him,” Trump said, emphasizing that while most people are replaceable, White stands out as irreplaceable.
According to Trump, White’s leadership has built an empire worth billions, and his business acumen is unparalleled.
Trump also praised White’s consistency, saying, “He’s never changed, just an incredible guy who truly understands his business.”
From Bankruptcy to Global Success
When White took over the UFC in 2001, the organization was teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.
Under his leadership, it has grown into one of the most successful sports franchises in the world, with an estimated value of over $12 billion.
Trump believes that White’s talent extends far beyond the UFC and that he could succeed in other industries if he chose to.
“He could probably do something else,” Trump added, noting White’s unrelenting enthusiasm for the sport.
White’s Support for Trump and Political Opinions
As the U.S. presidential election draws closer, White has continued to show his loyalty to Trump, making his political stance clear.
Recently, White criticized Vice President Kamala Harris following her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Sharing a clip of Harris’s interview, White voiced concerns about her ability to lead, saying, “This clip should scare EVERYONE.”
He expressed doubts about her readiness for the presidency and warned voters about the importance of the upcoming election.
Not Alone in His Support
Dana White isn’t the only sports figure backing Trump.
Last week, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker and former racing driver Danica Patrick also revealed they would be voting for Trump in the next election.
With the race for the presidency heating up, it seems Trump continues to draw support from prominent figures in the sports world.
What comes next for both Trump and White, especially as they navigate their political and business paths, remains to be seen.
