In a devastating incident on the beach at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida, a five-year-old girl lost her life after the sand hole she was digging collapsed on top of her.
Despite the frantic efforts of passersby to rescue her, the girl was pronounced dead. A seven-year-old boy, who was also trapped in the collapse, survived the incident.

Witnesses revealed that the children were playing and digging inside the hole when the ground suddenly gave way.
Mobile phone footage captured the heartbreaking moment when a crowd of beachgoers desperately tried to dig the children out before the arrival of firefighters.
Both children were rushed to the hospital, but the young girl was declared dead upon arrival.

Sandra King, spokesperson for Pompano Beach Fire, provided details, stating that the hole was about five to six feet deep when it collapsed.
The boy was buried up to his chest, while the girl was completely buried beneath him. Despite efforts to revive her pulse, the girl did not recover and was pronounced dead at Broward Health Medical Center.

King mentioned that the Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and it remains uncertain if any adults were assisting the children in digging the hole or playing with them.
