Taylor Swift Accused of Being Secret Spy Novel Author
Taylor Swift has been the subject of many conspiracy theories over the years, but the latest one may be the wildest yet.
Some fans believe that Swift is secretly the author of an upcoming spy novel called Argylle, written under the pseudonym Elly Conway.
The theory gained traction after a TikTok user named Chloe broke down all the reasons she believes Swift is the elusive author.
The Evidence
Chloe points out several pieces of evidence to support her theory. First, she notes that the book, which isn’t released until January 2024, already has a huge film deal.
“There must be something about it, more than the plot, to make a film studio commit to it. Now, we all know who’s got a proven track record of box office success, and that’s our girl Taylor,” she said.
Second, Chloe shows a poster for the Argylle film, which shows a cat in a backpack with a bubble-shaped window.
She points out that this is remarkably similar to the backpack Taylor has been seen carrying her own cats in. “It’s not something you see every day,” Chloe said.
Third, Chloe notes that Elly Conway is a character in the film, and that the actress playing her, Bryce Dallas Howard, is drawn parallels to Taylor at the end of her new All Too Well music video, in which she is seen playing a red-headed author.
Finally, Chloe points out that Taylor was seen wearing a jumper that reads “Conway Studios” on Instagram.
While this is the name of the studio where many of her hits were recorded, Chloe speculated that it could have inspired her author pseudonym.

Swifties were quick to point out other potential clues to support the theory, such as the fact that the film is being released on February 2nd, 2024, which is 112 days from October 13th, 2023, the day that the Eras tour film came out worldwide.
While some fans were convinced by the theory, others were skeptical, suggesting that it could be a marketing ploy or that Elly Conway is simply the daughter of a film director who doesn’t want to be attached to that name.
