When it comes to filming love scenes, Brittany Snow has found that working with women feels a lot more comfortable — and even enjoyable — compared to her past experiences with men.
The Pitch Perfect star opened up about it all during a recent chat on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, where she reflected on her steamy on-screen chemistry with co-star Malin Åkerman in Netflix’s hit series The Hunting Wives.
Why Working With Malin Åkerman Was So Different
Brittany, 39, didn’t hold back as she compared her experiences.
She explained that filming with Malin, 47, was far more respectful and collaborative than with her male co-stars.
“Men sometimes don’t care — they don’t even have a mint in their mouth,” Brittany laughed. “But with Malin and me, it was totally different.
She would constantly check in with me, asking, ‘Are you okay? Can I put my hand here?’ It was just so nice.”
She went on to describe how considerate the Swedish actress was during filming, explaining that Malin even positioned herself in certain ways to help Brittany feel more comfortable on camera.
“She’d say, ‘Do you want me to put my body here so you don’t have to show that part of yourself?’ It was so selfless and kind,” Brittany shared.
Inside Their Netflix Thriller The Hunting Wives
In the dark and twisty Netflix series, Brittany plays Sophie O’Neil, a woman who moves with her husband to a wealthy Texas town called Maple Brook.
There, she meets Margo Banks, played by Malin, the glamorous and mysterious leader of an exclusive social group called The Hunting Wives.
What starts as innocent curiosity soon spirals into obsession, danger, and scandal.
The show’s mix of seduction and suspense made it one of Netflix’s breakout hits of the year — spending five straight weeks in the platform’s Top 10 most-watched list.
Flirty Banter at the Emmys
Their chemistry didn’t just stay on-screen. Last month, Brittany and Malin made headlines again when they playfully flirted with each other on stage at the 2025 Emmy Awards.
In a cheeky moment that had the audience roaring with laughter, Brittany teased, “Wow, that took me a while to get here.
Sorry, I was really slow to come out.”
Without missing a beat, Malin leaned in and replied in her signature sultry tone, “Oh, I don’t mind waiting for you to come out.”
The flirty exchange perfectly captured the same tension that made their on-screen relationship so captivating.
A Second Season on the Way
Just days before their Emmy appearance, Netflix officially announced that The Hunting Wives would return for a second season.
Creator Rebecca Cutter confirmed that both Brittany and Malin would reprise their roles, teasing “another sexy, twisted, bats*** crazy ride through Maple Brook.”
Production is expected to begin in a few weeks, picking up right where the explosive first season left off — and fans can’t wait to see what happens next for Sophie and Margo.
A Comfortable Space for Authentic Performances
Reflecting on her experience, Brittany said that working with another woman allowed her to feel truly respected and at ease — something that made a big difference in how she approached intimate scenes.
“It was nice to feel cared for,” she admitted. “There was trust and communication, and that just made everything more natural.”
With her heartfelt honesty and the sizzling success of The Hunting Wives, Brittany Snow is clearly in her confident, creative era — and fans are here for every second of it.
