Upholding Democracy and National Interest

The lawmakers, under the umbrella of the Progressive Support Group, have voiced their concerns about the imposition of leadership positions within the party.

They emphasize the importance of safeguarding democracy and ensuring that the parliament fulfills its role of representing the interests of the electorate.

Their spokesperson urged fellow colleagues to prioritize the national interest and the well-being of Nigeria above any political group or individual.

Opposition to External Forces and Manipulation

The Betara camp strongly criticized the APC’s endorsement of another candidate, viewing it as an attempt by external forces to exert control over the House in the upcoming political dispensation.

The Progressive Support Group alleges that some self-centered individuals are plotting to manipulate the system for personal gains, contrary to the aspirations of Nigerians for transparency, accountability, and fairness in governance.
