Elders from Niger Delta Seek Minister Wike’s Mediation in Rivers State Political Dispute

The delegation strongly condemned the recent attempt by the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach the State Governor on allegations of gross misconduct.

They emphasized the importance of peace and unity in the Niger Delta region, likening Rivers State’s significance to the South West’s importance to Lagos State.

The elders urged Wike to use his influence to bring the political crisis under control before it escalates, as the consequences of unrest in the state would extend beyond its borders.

They stressed the need for Wike to act as a peacemaker and resolve the crisis in Rivers State for the benefit of all Nigerians.

The elders implored Wike not to remain silent in this matter, as the world is watching, and a peaceful resolution is crucial to prevent further turmoil.
