A 16-year-old tourist who was raped a 15-year-old British girl on a Greek island then immediately took a flight back to Italy.

A 15-year-old British girl has reportedly experienced a sexual assault by an Italian tourist on the Greek island of Halki. The incident occurred shortly before the girl left the island to return home. Law enforcement has initiated a search for the alleged perpetrator, believed to be a 16-year-old Italian boy who was vacationing on the island with his family. The reported assault took place in the early hours of Wednesday, between 4:30 am and 5:00 am, in the Pondamos area of Halki.

After the alleged assault, accompanied by her 55-year-old mother, the young British girl visited a medical clinic, prompting the doctor to notify the police. Assisted by the doctor and with her mother present, the Greek outlet Dimokratiki reported that police examined the 15-year-old victim. Unfortunately, there was no child psychologist available on the island to provide further support. Law enforcement has gathered several witness statements and used social media searches to identify the alleged 16-year-old assailant. However, by the time authorities could intervene, the alleged perpetrator had left the island at around 8:30 am on the same morning. He reportedly boarded a ferry with his family to Kamiro Skala on the island of Rhodes, where they were preparing to fly back to their home country.

Upon being shown a photograph of the 16-year-old from social media, the victim positively identified him. Police are actively searching for the 16-year-old Italian suspect, and the initial investigation is being conducted by authorities on the island of Halki. The prosecutor’s office has also been informed about the incident.
