At least five people have been sent to the hospital after a fire broke out at the Nigerian Law School’s Lagos campus on Ozumba Mbadiwe Street in Victoria Island.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 15, and caused a commotion among the passengers, who fled in all directions, some of them were injured in the process.
The fire broke out at 10 p.m. on the first floor of the 5-story building hostel, which houses roughly 1500 law graduates on the Lagos campus. It is believed to have been triggered by an electrical issue.
The fire was put out by hostel security officials as they promptly switched off the main power supply before the arrival of state fire service some minutes later.
